LAKELAND, FL – July 10, 2025
Kings Hammer FC Sun City’s USL League Two men’s team wrapped up a remarkable 2025 campaign—the most successful in club history. Under the leadership of Head Coach Stefano Cagioni, the squad shattered multiple records, setting a new benchmark for wins, goals scored, total points, and final league position.
After years of building and developing talent, this season proved to be a major turning point for the program.
“It was a season of breakthroughs,” said Coach Cagioni. “We finished with more wins than the last two seasons combined, earned 14 points—matching the total of the past two years—and saw our identity as a competitive, disciplined, and cohesive team come to life.”
Season Highlights by the Numbers
- Most wins in club history (4) – more than the previous two seasons combined (3)
- Most goals scored in a single season
- Three clean sheets
- 14 total points, equaling the combined total from the 2023 and 2024 seasons
Tactical Growth & Leadership on the Sidelines
Much of the team’s evolution this season can be credited to the coaching staff’s commitment to growth and development—on and off the pitch. While Head Coach Cagioni set the tone, Assistant Coach Filippo Poggipolini played a critical role in shaping player development throughout the year.
His extensive soccer knowledge, positive energy, and individualized attention helped elevate the level of play across the roster. His passion for the game and for growing young athletes left a lasting impact.
“Filippo did a fantastic job with our guys,” said Coach Cagioni. “He brought so much value through his insights, teaching, and attitude—something I’m extremely grateful for.”
Standout Players Who Made It Happen
The team’s success was built on a foundation of leadership, grit, and individual brilliance. Several players stepped up in major ways, both statistically and with their presence on and off the pitch.
Diego Garciarena (Goalkeeper)
A vocal leader and the team’s backbone, Diego came up big in critical moments. His command of the box, timely saves, and calming leadership played a massive role in securing three clean sheets and anchoring a defense that grew in confidence every week.
Alagie Nije (Center Back)
The definition of consistency, Alagie was the only player to feature in every match this season. As the anchor of the back line, he brought physicality, composure, and a relentless work ethic. His presence was crucial in organizing the defense and setting the tone from the back.
Sander Trevor (Midfielder / Captain)
The heartbeat of the team, Sander was more than a captain—he was an on-field extension of the coaching staff. He took personal ownership of the squad’s success and mentored younger players throughout the season. His leadership, vision, and presence in the midfield were invaluable to the team’s identity.
Jay Kitcher (Midfielder)
A strong presence in the middle of the pitch, Jay brought stability and direction. Another key leader, his communication, experience, and intelligent play helped the team control tempo and maintain structure throughout each match.
Francesco Aiello (Forward)
A pure finisher, Francesco led the team in scoring with 6 goals in just 6 appearances. His clinical ability in front of goal gave the team a dangerous edge and helped secure vital results down the stretch. When the team needed a spark, Francesco delivered.
Xavier Rimpel (Offensive Midfielder)
Xavier’s 1v1 ability and creativity made him one of the most dangerous attacking threats all season. His development was clear every match, and his efforts paid off—this week, Xavier signed his first professional contract with Chattanooga FC in MLS NEXT Pro, a moment of pride for both the coaching staff and club.
“Xavier’s growth this season was incredible,” said Coach Cagioni. “Seeing him take that next step into the professional ranks is something both myself and Coach Filippo are extremely proud of.”
A Season of Progress, Gratitude, and Pride
From defensive discipline to attacking flair, from locker room leadership to coaching synergy, this season was a complete team effort that has elevated the standard and expectations for Kings Hammer FC Sun City’s men’s program moving forward.
“This group gave everything,” said Coach Cagioni. “They set the tone for the future of this club—and showed what’s possible when belief, preparation, and talent come together.”
Coach Cagioni also extended heartfelt appreciation to the club’s leadership for their support throughout the season:
“I want to sincerely thank the Kings Hammer FC Sun City leaders for trusting me and my staff. They allowed us to work in a positive environment and helped us accomplish our goals—something I’m truly grateful for.”
As the curtain closes on a historic 2025 campaign, one thing is certain: Kings Hammer FC Sun City’s USL League Two men are no longer a team building from the ground up—they’re a team built to compete.
Thank you to all our players, coaches, supporters, and families for your belief, passion, and commitment. We can’t wait to keep building on this foundation in 2026.
